Well, here I am beginning a journey of my Little Slice of Heaven. Everyone has their own ideal of what is pleasurable to them. For me, it is getting to become a home school mom. I will get to start in August of 2010 with my Heavenly journey! I am thankful that the Lord has given me and my family the ability to do this. I thought that I'd blog about it along the way so that family, friends and anyone else who cares can keep up if they'd like.
A little background...my son will be in K5 next year. I have a B.S. in Secondary English Education, so I'm excited to be using Sonlight curriculum. (You can find a link to it at the top right-hand corner of my blog). Sonlight is a literature based curriculum.
I am currently still working full-time as an administrative secretary at Columbus State University, but next Friday will be my last day. My husband works as a teacher at Calvary Christian School in Columbus, GA. He is also the Associate Pastor of CrossPointe Church of the Nazarene and I'm the Children's Ministries Coordinator there as well.
Sometimes you don't appreciate things until you don't have them any more. Working full-time has made me miss the quality time I used to spend with my son. We adopted him when he was three months old...but that is another story for another day! When I was home with him before, I took for granted the time I got to spend with him and on household chores. Now that there seems to be no time to do anything, I think I'll take a whole different approach in August when I get a second chance to start again being an at-home mom.
Here's to new beginnings!
